Step 3 – Type following command and press Enter key.

Warning: Running the Sysprep command each time resets the Windows licensing status to the default. So if your Windows is activated and you run this command, you will need to reactivate Windows after executing this command.

Solution 2 – Fix ‘You Can’t Install Windows While Running in Audit Mode’ Using Registry Editor:

Step 1 – Open Run window.

Step 2 – Type ‘regedit’ command.

Step 3 – Now go through the following path in the registry.

Highlight the state registration key in the window shown above and come to the right pane. Now right-click on a registry string (REG_SZ) called ImageState and select Delete. Once you’ve deleted the string, close the Registry Editor and reboot. So you can try upgrading to Windows 10 now, and since you are not outside of Audit Mode you will not face any problems.

Solution 3 – Fix ‘You Can’t Install Windows While Running in Audit Mode’ Using Sysprep:

Step 1 – Now go through the following path in the My Computer.

Step 2 – Open ‘sysprep.exe’
