Useful Windows Group Policy Tricks and Tricks Everyone Should Know
Group Policy controls the functions of user accounts and computer accounts. As well as management and configuration of operating systems, applications and active directory networks. We will learn about Windows Group Policy Tricks in this article.
Open the Group Policy-
Let’s first see how Group Policy opens for Group Policy tricks. To open Group Policy, For this, press the window key and R and open the Run window. In the Run window, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Windows Group Policy Tricks-
1) Disable access to control panel:
Control Panel restrictions are made in your small office or major companies. Because users change settings on the computer.
To disable access to the control panel on your computer, open the Group Policy and use the following command. To restrict access to the entire control panel, enable ‘Prohibit access to Control Panel and PC Settings‘ command. Enable ‘Hide specific Control Panel items‘ and ‘Show only specified Control Panel Item‘ commands for semi-access.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Prohibit access to Control Panel and PC Settings

2) Run Scripts at Login/Startup/Shutdown:
While computing ‘logon, startup or shutdown’, one can add a script to run. Computer can add slips to clean temp file when it is ‘Logon, Startup or Shutdown’
To Run Scripts, add Scripts in the Windows Settings of Computer Configuration.Run the script using the following command for it.
Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)
User Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Logon/Logoff)
3) Disable Access to Command Prompt:
Command Prompt is quite useful for you, but in some cases, its users are being misused, so Command Prompt Access is disabled.
To disable Access Command’s prompt, enable ‘Prevent access to the command prompt’ option as per the following Group Policy command.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Prevent access to the command prompt

4) Turn Off Windows Defender:
Since your computer already has an antivirus, Therefore, Windows Defender does not require a computer, but it can be disabled.
Use the following command to disable the Windows Defender.
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender > Turn off Windows Defender
5)Disable Software Installations:
Even though you are telling the office to don’t install non complains software, some people install any software. For that, you are now going to Prevent Software Installations by using Group Policy tricks.
For the purpose of disabling the software installation in the window, go according to the following Group Policy commands and enable the ‘Disable Windows Installer’.
Computer Configurations > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Installer > Disable Windows Installer
6) Disable Forced Restarts:
When you are working, the windows are updated with an automatic restart. Use the following command to Disable the Forced Restarts.
Computer Configuration > Administrator Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic update installation

7)Disable Removable Media Drives:
None of the computer data in the office should be taken from Pen Drive, For this ‘Removable Media Drives’ are disabled.
For Disable ‘Removable Media Drives’ Disable in Windows, Enforce Click ‘Removable Disks: Deny Read Access’ as per the following command in Group Policy.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Removable Storage Access > Removable Disks: Deny read access
8)Turn off all balloon notifications:
When you are working on the computer, balloon notifications get popped up and obstruct your work. Balloon notifications You are about to disable this group policy trick.
To turn off balloon notifications in windows, enabling ‘turn off all balloon notifications‘ in the Group Policy.
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > Turn off all balloon notifications
