Follow the below steps to install Umplayer open-source media player in ubuntu:

Before starting the installation of Umplayer open-source media player we have to install the required repository for that as Umplayer multimedia player is not a part of the default repository of Ubuntu. So here I am going to install the getdeb repository from where we will get the Umplayer package.

Follow the below command to download the getdeb repository .deb package.

Here I have downloaded the getdeb repository package to install Umplayer open-source media player package. Refer to the output below.

After installing the repository just update the packages and repository of Ubuntu using the below command.

To open the application just type the command umplayer on shell prompt. Refer to the command below.

After opening the application it will ask you to select your preferred language. To select your language and click on Ok. You can also open the Umplayer media player application graphically using search your computer box.

How To Uninstall Umplayer Open Source Media Player in Ubuntu?

For any reason, if you don’t like Umplayer Open Source Media Player and want to uninstall the application from your system using the following command.
