How To Installing And Configuring Active Directory In Windows Server 2016

In this article, I am going to show you ” Installing and Configuring Active Directory in Windows Server 2016.” Previously I already published the article “ Windows Server 2016 System Requirement and Installation“. Windows Server 2016 Microsoft recommended and minimum hardware requirements.

Follow the below steps to Installing and Configuring Active directory in windows server 2016:

Open the Server Manager from the taskbar.
Add roles and features:
Now open Server Manager, please select “Add roles and features“.
Just click on next:
Installation Type:
Select “Role-based or features based installation” and click Next.
Server Selection:
Select a server from the server pool, and click next.
Server Role:
Select “Active Directory Domain Services” Server role and click Next.

Just Click On “Add Features and click on install “:
Again Click On Next:
ADDS:
Just click on next:
Now you successful AD install, now you can close the window.

Configuring Active Directory and DNS:-

AD DS role is installed the server will need to be configured for your domain. Open the Server Manager and Open the Notifications Pane – Notifications icon- click on – Promote this server to a domain controller Configuration tab.

Select the deployment operation:

From the Deployment Configuration tab, select Add a new forest from the radial options menu. Insert your root domain name into the Root domain name field, and then click Next.

Domain Controller Option:

Select the functional level of the new forest and root domain, and enter a password.

Addition Option:

Enter the NetBIOS domain name and click next.

Path:

Specify the location of the AD DS database log file and SYVOL.

Review Option:

Check your selection and view the script and click next.

Automatic Restart system:

After Prerequisites install then your system automatically restart.
